History

the story behind the club

PBC Roude Léiw Rëmeleng is a pool billiards club based in Rëmeleng (Rumelange), Luxembourg. Since its foundation, the club has been dedicated to promoting pool billiards and bringing together players who share a passion for the sport.
Over the years, PBC Roude Léiw Rëmelen has developed into an active club with a strong presence in local competitions and the Luxembourg billiards community. The following section outlines the history of the club, from its foundation to its development into the club it is today.

September 1986

The first meeting of the club’s founders takes place, marking the beginning of the association.

October 1986

The statutes of PBC Bieleser Stuff 1986 are officially established. The club starts with 16 registered players.

1988

Following the closure of the Café Bieleser Stuff, the club relocates to Café Pénalty in Oberkorn and changes its name to PBC Oberkorn 88.
Membership at this time: 7 players.

1990

After the end of the lease of Café Pénalty, the club moves to Café du Moulin in Differdange and adopts the new name PBC Roude Léiw Déifferdeng.
Membership: 5 players.

1992

The City of Differdange provides the club with a room containing two billiard tables in the basement of a primary school in Differdange. During the early 1990s, membership grows rapidly. By 1995, the club counts 45 registered players.
Club officials decide to use both available playing venues, with the municipal room mainly serving as a training facility for young talents.

1999

Renovation works in the building housing Café du Moulin result in the loss of the billiard room. The club relocates to Brasserie 911 in Belvaux.
Membership in 1999: 34 players.

2000

The club merges with Black-Bull Esch, forming PBC Roude Leiw 2000.

2002

The club moves to the first floor of Pizzeria Bella Vista in Differdange.

2004

Pizzeria Bella Vista declares bankruptcy. As a result, the number of active members drops significantly. Only 9 active players remain, who continue competing for the next two seasons.

2006 – 2009

During these seasons, Roude Leiw no longer participates in national competitions. However, the association is not officially dissolved.

2009

Six motivated former members revive the club’s activities. The club adopts the new name “PBC Roude Leiw Differdange.”
The municipal room is still available to the club and remains the only playing venue. However, after several incidents in the building—flood damage around 2005 and a heating pipe rupture in 2010—the room becomes nearly unusable. At that time, the City of Differdange unfortunately has no alternative facility to offer.

2010

Club officials reach an agreement with the RED ROCK Billiard Hall in Esch-sur-Alzette. The club begins to grow again, reaching 19 members by 2013.

2013

After a third incident affecting the school facility, the club decides to abandon the municipal room completely.

June 23, 2014

The RED ROCK billiard hall declares bankruptcy.

December 2014

An agreement is reached with Xtreme Bowling & Billard in Foetz, allowing the club to continue its activities.

2017

The club submits a request to the City of Rumelange for the use of a municipal facility. The request is approved a few months later.

September 2018

Roude Leiw celebrates the official inauguration of its new billiard room on the third floor of the BERENS building in Rumelange, together with representatives of the City of Rumelange and the Luxembourg Billiards Federation.
Membership in 2018: 14 players.

2019

The club changes its name to “PBC Roude Léiw Rumelange.”

February 2026

The club counts 39 members.
